a question about halva....please help me!

Years ago I used to be able to get Halva in a red box (possibly with silver or gold writing on)...but now all I can get is the suniva stuff in Holland & Barratts...does anyone know what the stuff in the red box was called or who it was made by so that I can try and track it down on the internet. Thank you, thank you if you can help!

We used to have it too as kids. I live in central london and will be in Edgware Road tomorrow - all the shops round there sell it. I will look out for it and let you know if I find it.

That would be fantastic Sar - particularly if you could let us know who makes it or what it's called.

No other halva is quite like it is it?! It is far more flakey than the suniva.

Hi there, I know exactly the one you mean.. and I think they sell it at Persepolis - the Persian shop round the corner from me (and apparently the biggest importers of all things persian in the UK??!!).. in Peckham..

Ellaroo sorry for the delay in replying. I thought I'd found it but I just re-read your original post and unfortunately think it's the same as the one you buy in H&B. The one I saw in a red box with yellowy writing is Sunita, am guessing it's the same as suniva as per your post?? Will keep looking....
