do I phone the doctor or not?

Hi there, too worried to sleep.
I cut the hedge today and around 5pm was putting the off cuts into a trailer. I stupidly didnt wear gloves and got a jac at the side of my index finger. I checked for a thorn but nothing visible. I ignored it and about 2 hours ago I saw a blue vein appear going up finger from the sting site towards the main body of my hand. Now my whole finger is stingy. I am slightly worried about sepsis. Any thoughts?

Thanks, just did. :) Spoke to nurse who established no tracking, inflamation or pus, then said wait till 9am and reassess but to phone immediately if anything else/other symptoms appear.
I am so going to wear gloves in future. (I am petrified of needles).

Sounds like brushing in the vein to me
