Mongolian Blue Spots

My ds2 (2.4)has one of these at the bottom of his back/top of bum.do they ever disappear or is it there forever?and will it get bigger as he grows?

Also,i know little about where they originate from.I know that they originate from darker skinned people,other races, but where from exactly?our other children don't have one.

Just wondering really.

Hi scorpio, they do disappear eventually, most of the books say 1 year, but there are a few comments on them hanging around for longer in the thread in multicultural families. They don't come from any particular place, they're just very common in children with olive skin or darker, and occsionally turn up in much fairer-skinned babies.
