Can anyone help pls. I've got a 2 inch burn that's a few days old.
Drenched it in water at the time and pain went after a day.
The skin is now starting to split slightly and a friend has said I need to do something with it ahead of going into hospital because of infection risk (?)
I've asked a pharmacist this morning but he wasn't keen to advise. I'm away for work today until after my local surgery closes.
I can get to a shop if needed for cream and/or dressing.
Thanks for any advice.

Call the ward and ask. I had a cut on my arm and they dressed it pre surgery but they’ll be able to advise if you need reassurance.
