Hayfever-different pollens?

My 11 year old son has suffered from hayfever for a few years now-but not for the whole summer. It seems to be worst at this time (started last night)of the year... and then at the end of the summer. His eyes swell up real bad and are itchy and sore. He takes piriton-but it dosen't help that much.
During June, July and August it hardly bothers him.
Also being being near the beach seems to make it worse.
Just wondering if anyone knows what kind of pollen is released this time of year? I have read somewhere that there are a few different ones at diff times.....

anyone?

have a look here

DH finds wearing sunglasses and not touching his eyes really helps - I think the pollen gets in through the eye membranes more than through the nose.

This time of year it tends to be tree pollens, and also towards the end of summer along with fungi spores.

Pollen in june july and august tends to be grass, which it sounds like he not allegic to.

Just looked it up on that link-thanx throckenholt-it does look like tree pollen....there are about twenty million trees starting 6ft away from our front door in the local park....not much i can do about that one...perhaps some harsh looks...lol

I wonder why he gets it bad at the beach though..maybe thats where all pollens meet?..lol..bit of a pollennet going on down there....lol

ignore me..i am being silly.....

thanks for your help.
