Please advice about strange spots

I have notice that I have these little red dots on my body. They are not raised - so are not a rash. They look like part of the skin. I have quite a few of them. They dont itch or anything but I have no idea what they are.
Any ideas?

Are they new and have they all appeared at once or are they long standing?

they have taken a while to appear - i would say gradually over years.

joanneq - don't worry - if they're what I have (and I have lots of them!!) they are called McDonalls or McDougalls or something similar. I have asked two different doctors and although I can't remember which 'Mc' it is, have been reassured both times they are nothing to worry about. Mine are very bright red dots some bigger than others and I have had them for years (noticed got more during/after pregnancies tho). HTH
