I have suffered with IBS for years, it stopped whilst pregnant both times (not going down that route though ).
It gives me such severe stomach cramps when it comes on. I think it comes down to stress, but I do not feel this is 100% right.
I am now suffering with side effects from the IBS with my throat. When I am eating, the food seems to get stuck and it feels like I am "chocking" (sp?). I am sick and can often finish of the meal. The dr has said this connects with the IBS.

So, what can I do? What have you found that has controled it a bit better?

I suffer from IBS. I also have had that 'lump in throat feeling' too. It's sometimes termed 'globus' usually brought on by stress. I get acid reflux too. All these conditions are loosely related, if your have a nervy disposition. Sympathies.

I used to have it. I went to an acupuncturist and it's never come back since.

TBHP, did it really help? where did you have the needles to?

Thanks

I had a sensation that something was lodged in my throat (like a piece of apple), each time after I had swallowed. I never had the real choking sensation, although I am aware some people suffer to that extreme. Once I knew it was stress-related, I made every effort to be relaxed and learnt to ignore the feeling. It invariably disappeared if I was totally distracted by something else. Try to not to get into a viscious circle. Not easy, I know. Remind yourself you are in control.
