For my dd's chicken pox marks to go?
DD1-Had it 6 weeks ago
DD2 -Started with it 3 weeks ago.
Both of them had it very badly and were very ill, even the gp agreed they were bad cases and some of dd2's got infected.
All of dd1's scabs have dropped off now but she is still covered in red 'site' marks .
dd2 still has scabs especially all over her head and she too is still covered in red marks where the scabs were. She has some scarsbut the red marks dont look like scars.
please tell me that my poor babies skin isn't ruined!

my ds2 still has dents in his skin form chicken pox he had at christmas.
I have just thought about this when i read your post- and it is over 3 months
i am waiting to see what other people say- maybe my ds2 will have the marks for life- that would be sad, they are all over his forehead

It's awful to see your poor babies' skin get ruined by these horrible pox-marks isn't it . My dd has it now, especially in her face, and I'll be keeping an eye on this thread as I also wonder how long it will take to heal.

mrsjohnsimnelcake · 07/04/2007 22:40

will bump to see if anyone has any other experience...i feel like we are all standing around kicking our heels just now, waiting form somebody nice to come along and say it will all go away within 6 months or something

I had cp when I was a child (9ish?). I still have a dozen or so scars. Most went un-noticible but a few remained. I even had a stretch mark run thru one of the scars and it was so obvious that the MW asked what my laproscopy was for.

A few of DTDs scars have remained too.

Thanks.

These marks though aren't scars as they don't pit in the middle, they are just where the spots have been.

Ime the flat red areas will eventually fade away but the pitted marks are there for good. Dd1 has some bad scars on her face, although to be fair they bother me a lot more than they bother her, which is good.

MY ds still has marks on his skin 1 yr later.
