flu any remedies that work?

i've been really ill with it for two days and have taken tons of lemsips/painkillers but nothing works feel so bad

influenza is a virus. you can take painkillers to try to lesson the discomfort, but otherwise it has to run its course .

if you get to your GP within 2 days of the onset of symptoms, and test positive for influenza virus (don't know what the test involves in the UK but in the US it's a nasal swab), they can give you an anti-viral that can shorten the virus's life cycle, but that's about it.

i'll try the capsules but think i'll have to just let it run it's course. always holiday time too
