Hello. I'll try to keep this as simple and brief as possible. 8 years ago, DH had a herniated disc at L4/L5 - rushed into surgery as he was loosing feeling below his waist and couldn't pee. The disc was removed, he regained some sensation but not all (he suffers with cauda equina syndrome) but he's still suffering chronic pain. Steroid shots never worked. He takes a cocktail of drugs to manage the pain (too much Tramadol, Amatryptaline) but he's still really suffering. Our GP has recommended nerve oblation (and is concerned about his Tramadol use, which aren't even all that effective anymore) and I was hoping you would tell me if you've had nerve oblation and if it actually helped - anything about your experience would be great. Thank you.
