is this onset of a cold or flu?

Myself, ds and dd have all been Under the weather for the past few days,
Dd has a had a slight runny nose but has been sleeping way more than usual during the day and is eating a lot less, also less wet nappies but not dehydrated
Ds has been complaining of achy Limbs, tiredness and feeling sick (no runny nose) and loss of appetite which is v.unusual for him
I've been feeling very achy and very tired (but can't sleep well) for the past few week and also feeling sick but again no runny nose/throat probs.

If it is the start of the flu would we even all have it at the same-ish time? Does it sound like the onset of flu,
I know it sounds like a silly question but when I get a cold it usually starts with a sort throat and runny nose.
I don't know what else it could be, but it feels like I'm exhausted right down to my bones Sad

It's weird you should say this. I've been sleeping loads for about three weeks with a tiny sniffle and slight chestiness. I even wondered if I was malnourished in some way. The last week or so I've slept eighthours, plus one hour in the afternoon and similarly have a feeling like the inside of my shoulders and legs are aching and tired along the bones. When I accidentally got cold in the night (bad bed making!) I suddenly got full cold style chestiness and thought 'oh its finally turned into a proper cold' and expected it to go in a couple of days. Three days later I'm still kind of post-hangover tired.

Maybe its just a strain of cold this year that's going about,,?

Ahhh I feel like this today. Feels like a head cold for me, aching in my sinuses jaw and throat. Paracetamol has taken the edge off! Hoping I'm just run down.

It's awful isn't it, I keep thinking oh it's going to turn into a runny nose etc any day now but nothing yet.
I've only ever had proper flu once when I was pregnant so it's hard to judge.
I had the full on headache a few days ago, paracetomal took the edge off but I still had to go to bed early.
I've even had to wear sunglasses when driving because the light has made me feel a bit headachy.
Will ride it out and hope that it's just a bad cold and doesn't develop into full on flu.

Lots of rest and hydration, hope you both feel better soon too BrewFlowers

Oh I had the light sensitivity thing earlier when I went outside!
Maybe it's the same thing making it's rounds.

I have some kind of crappy virus which sounds like this. Wednesday my nose was tingly and I was sneezing, not often but it felt like the onset of a cold, Thursday my nose was a little blocked but I felt okay. By Thursday evening though I couldn't get warm, I was shivering and my hands were icy cold.

Friday I slept for over 16 hours, when I was awake I was either shivering or sweating and I had a headache, aching legs and hips - even my eyeballs ached.

Woke up this morning feeling slightly better and by this afternoon I felt hungry, hadn't eaten since Thursday. I had a few Rich Tea biscuits late afternoon and have since been sick twice.

I was supposed to go for my flu jab this morning as I'm in the at risk group but had to cancel.
