Always have a tendency to be anaemic. Been taking an iron supplement for 6 weeks or so but this week's level is 3.4. Periods not that heavy.

Anyone experienced this?

I had ferratin levels of 4.6 on 1 Aug. Never been knowingly anaemic before. Have been taking ferrous sulphate tablets since then; got to go for another blood test at start of Nov to see if Ferratin levels have improved. I have very light periods, good diet etc. GP's concern is that I am not absorbing iron, even if I get enough.

I'm frequently on the verge of aneamic. My levels were down to 4 at the end of last year. I was getting lightheaded and dizzy.

Took iron tablets to bring it up which worked but I know if I went and tested now, I am probably low again.

I found that liquid iron was much better for me. Can you try spatone?

Worth a try Believe - GP sending me for gastrotopy to rule out internal bleeding 😬
