On Saturday morning I woke up feeling very unwell. I had awful pain between my shoulders/upper back. Nausea, headache, terrible joint pain, skin tenderness, shivering and excessive sweating.

All weekend I was either in bed asleep or laying on the bed dosing. I felt so poorly I barely spoke to my 10 year old and she was very worried about me. Co-codamol and ibuprofen were barely touching my joint pain and aches and laying still was the only comfort.

I've got a fairly new job so dragged myself into work and it was clear I was still unwell. On way home I had to call for milk and bought some lucozade as I was thirsty.

Within 20 minutes of drinking it I felt back to normal. All my symptoms had more or less gone, and I can't believe I went from feeling dreadful to ok in such a short time.

I've had similar symptoms before that lasted a few days and went away. Is the lucozade just a coincidence or could it have been a blood sugar issue that needs checking.

I'll also mention I'm 48 and on HRT patches due to a total hysterectomy, but they manage menopause symptoms well.

Yes I would and hope you have. These are the signs of sepsis. It is deadly and nearly killed me.
I also ummed and arrd about going in, glad I eventually did.
I really hope you're ok, please go in and stop any pain relief other than paracetamol immediately as it can mask/perpetuate it if this is the case xx
