I posted this in conception last night, but not sure if it should have been here

I had a HSG on Feb 22nd - excruciatingly (sp) painful but somewhat masked by the joy of finding both tubes open.

My next AF was due Mon Mar 12 however I started cramping on the Thurs/Fri before that and Sat 10th started the heaviest and painful period which went on for some 2.5 weeks

Follow up appointment was with the consultant last night an the cyst I have has now got to the size where she wants to remove it via a lap as soon as possible. The hospital have called to say the op is on 16th April (thanks to private healthcare cover).

My problem is I have two scenarios where I am in my cycle due to the meds they gave me during my 2.5 week period.

If I go by my normal cycle (av 28 days) then I am expecting my next period this weekend.

I was given a five day course of progesterone to stop the bleeding (which worked) from 15-19 Mar and then started bleeding again on 21 Mar. This would mean if 21 Mar was CD1 again then I will be on CD27 when the op is scheduled

Does anyone know if a 5 day progesterone course would put my cycle out enough to shift my period out or am I likely to get my period this weekend.

I am guessing that a Lap can not be done if AF is in flow ???

Should I see my GP again to get more progesterone tablets to ensure that if no bleeding starts between now and the OP I can hold it off for a few more days to get the op out of the way.

If you have got this far, thanks for taking the time to read - happy for any advice you may have. Luca
