Menstruating since July with just 2 week off, painful pins and needles, not made it to gp and don't know how to phrase

So, I had a period for 7 weeks, then it ended 9 days ago, now it's back. Painful pins and needles, mouth ulcers, tired etc.

However, except when I was diag hypothyroid and vit d deficient in Aug 14, every blood test since has been fine, so am cautious abt same again.

Have recently moved area, so will be a new gp which I can register for on Tuesday.

Any suggestions, I've also got freshers flu so feel extra dreadful

Thanks all xx

Sounds like you could be anemic? I think, if I remember correctly, you're likely to be depleting your haemoglobin. When I had routine blood tests which showed up my anaemia the gp retested me to check my haemoglobin levels as they hadn't included that in my original tests. The result was very low haemoglobin levels.

What I mean is you need to see your gp and describe your symptoms.

Ask for a full work up. TFT, Vitamin B12, folate, serum ferritin, vitamin D, FBC and then pick the bones out of the results.

Thanks. Registering tomorrow, will book apt

So I registered but was in uni all day so didn't get an apt. Will one day after registering be okay to still get an apt? Or will I have to wait

The thing is in the past I was tested but not anaemic, so I keep thinking I won't be

Low ferritin can cause symptoms but without you technically being anaemic.

caremummy · 12/09/2017 20:58

Right okay, I had a low mean haemoglobin level but that was 'normal'. Ta
