Breastfeeding mums -when did you restart your periods?

My DD is nearly 8 months old and is still fully breast fed with the odd bit of yoghurt thrown in when she's in the mood. Have been getting a bit worried recently that I haven't yet had a period. Can't even contemplate the idea of being pregnant again . Wondered how normal this is? Any response welcome!

Didn't return after DD1 who was BF for about 5 months, conceived DD2 2 weeks after dropping most of the feeds. Be careful ! Rx

Stopped bleeding after 4 weeks and had periods a few days later with all 3 DDs. Breast fed each one for 12 months.

That'll be why there's only 15 month age gap between DD2 & DD3.

six months after birth also practically fully bf

I got my periods back at 8 months after having ds2. He was bf for 18 months in total and the month that i stopped breastfeeding, yep you guessed, I got pg!!

I only got my periods back once ds started to sleep through the night every night, and was eating 3 meals a day.

About 6 weeks after giving birth, despite bf ds every 2-3 hours - boo hoo. Am of everyone who didn't get the old bag back for many months!

New to this so hello to all, dd is 4 1/2 months and we are already thinking of trying for the next (want 3 and am getting a bit old for long gaps between!) does anyone know if ovulation predictors are useful if still breastfeeding and no periods yet? dd not interested in weaning yet so will continue with 5-7 feeds a day but with min 8 hrs at night with none. Would like a boy this time and have read up on best stage of cycle to concieve boy or girl but don't want it all to be too clinical! Would love any advice, thanks

this time haven't come back & I'm preg again! with my other's around the 18 month mark.

With both dd1 and dd2 my periods returned exactly 4 weeks after I completely stopped

Only once each child was on 3 reasonable sized meals a day, and bf much less. I had one period after dd1, then had dd2 (15 month gap)
