Heart Palpatations/Fluttering

Just a quickie, posted a few days ago about dizziness and a falling sensation, now I have noticed a fluttering at the same time. Almost like my heart misses a beat (which is when I get the sinking feeling) then goes abit jumpy then settles down. It's not pysiological (cant spell that!) I am pretty sure of that - well, what I mean is I am not "making" it happen, if that makes sense. I am very very stressed right now, and smoeone said that could be why, but I have never felt stress so physically before. Does this sound right, or should I get it checked out? It isn't normal dizziness, it's really quite scarey - had dizziness before, when pregnant etc. And the heart fluttering is more than just a "normal" funniness you sometimes get. Oh, and is it ok to go to an exercise class tonight do you recon? Don't want to keel over Thanks xXx

go to GP, ask for referral to cardio, you might have to have a 24hour holter monitor done to dx any arrythmias, irregular beats etc. always best to be safe.

I would get it checked out before you do any vigorous exercise

same thing happened to me a few years ago - I had a 24 hour monitor done which seemed to be a brilliant cure, the nurse said that often happens, sods law and all that. Yes, you should get it checked out but dont worry yourself too much, apparently its very common. Mine was caused by an extra heart beat, arent i lucky! and this was caused it seems by some steroidal anti histamines that i had (fromthe chemist). Caffeine and alcohol can often trigger these, imagine my dismay to be told to cut out both as i was just going on holiday! but i dont get them now, only if i am very Very stressed or take certain cold remedies. But the message is, get it checked, its probably nothing and it happens to loads of people but better to reassure yourself because it is really disconcerting. My heart felt like it was missing a beat too, because the exta beat didnt give it time to recover before it made the next one, horrible feeling.

Hi,
I have had these symtems for over 3 yrs now, had loads of tests but nothing ever shows up. Now on top of those feelings I have developed tinnitus, just cannot sleep, as son as I lie down the noise goes round my head, then I get dizzy and feel as though I am going to pass out, its very scary. I will go back to my gp but don`t know what else they can do.

Rung GP, mainly to ask if I was ok to go to an exercise class, and he said it sounded like stress (coupled with dizziness and a nosebleed) and was fine to go. I guess I will see if it still happens when I am less stressed. thanks xXx
