Glanduar (?) fever

Has anybody has glandular fever without having a sore throat? I have been feeling low for a few months; had a cold on and off for about ten weeks. I am exhausted and although I sleep well I never feel like I have had enough sleep. My glands are swollen. I have has close contact with somebody I work who has gland fever.

I have had three lots of blood taken today for tests but my GP says that unlikely to be glandular fever because my throat isn't sore.

If you have medical knowledge and you think this sounds like something really serious, please do not tell me. I will wait till I get test results next week!

Well I had glandular fever but I did have a hellish sore throat. It was diagnosed as tonsillitis initially though and it wasn't until a month later that they did a test for gf which was positive.

If not gf it could be another virus - some of them are pretty nasty and can really wipe you out. You may not even still have the virus so don't be surprised if the bloods come back with nothing. In the meantime take it easy - I mean it. I ended up with a post-viral syndrome that lasted for several years on and off.
