I have just been diagnosed with a rectocele and cystocele whilst on holiday abroad. Quite a shock, although I should have recognised some of the symptoms :-( I am now waiting to see my GP next week to ask for a specialist referral to a Urogynaecologist and/or physio.

I would be really grateful for any recommendations, NHS or private, in London. In the first instance I am hoping for a detailed examination, looking into different treatment options etc. Ideally I would like to find someone who is patient, understanding, and happy to answer lots of questions incl on sex.

It would also be great to get recommendations from anyone who has had a successful surgery in case I end up going down that route.

Thank you in advance for your help - I really appreciate it!

My friend (who is a Consultant anaesthetist) highly recommends Sohier Elneil at UCH for this area.

As regards a Physio, I would recommend Helen Keeble at the White Hart clinic in Barnes Bridge .

Quick update regarding Helen Keeble at White Hart clinic in Barnes Bridge: Unfortunately she is fully booked up until October, and actually leaving the clinic that month. A shame - the feedback about her on the clinic website looks great.
