MMR to my son or not

I am a bit worried about giving the vaccine to my son! Not because of autism. When I had the first vaccination at 13 months, I started to lose my hearing (apparently I didn't respond to people when they called my name and I couldn't hear high pitched sounds) whereas before, I used to listen to lullabies and the birds and always reacted to them. Then at 4 years old when I had the booster, my hearing deteriorated further and I was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss. Prior to this, I apparently passed all of my hearing tests in the hospital and at school and had no trouble in school then I started to lose my hearing more after the booster. To this day, it is severe and getting worse and eventually I am going to be profoundly deaf. Nobody in my family has hearing loss except for myself. I am worried could this happen to my son? I am definitely certain it is related to the MMR vaccine. I am really worried as I don't want this to happen to my son! I struggle a lot with hearing loss and I don't want him going through the same as what I am going through.

Your certain your hearing loss is related to the MMR vaccine but you have bever had this medically confirmed.
Hundreds of children died of measles or were left with health problems because of mumps before the MMR vaccine was invented. There is no medicine for these serious viral infections
Yet you would put your childs health and life at risk because you think your hearing loss was caused by the MMR vaccine when this has never been confirmed.

And has any medical professional ever suggested it's linked?

And even if it is linked which is worse some hearing loss or catching a disease which is potentially fatal?

If you couldn't hear high pitched sounds at 13 months, you can't have passed all the hearing tests up to the age if 4.

You really need to go and see a specialist to ask about the known/possible causes of your hearing loss (because you currently don't really know, and it may be based on things you have been told rather than things you can reliably remember)

I was worried for a similar reason- I delayed mmr for a year to get over the developmental milestone I was concerned about.

Have a proper chat with your GP and health visitor. You won't get answers here, just people piling in about how awful a parent you are for even considering not doing it, or die hard anti vaxers telling you you'll ruin your kid by doing it. No proper advice.
Honestly, HCP are the best people to speak to. A good one won't pressure you into it, but will go through the pros and cons of both decisions with you and talk through the risks of both to help you make a more informed decision.
The doctors, nurses, health visitors etc have been through this lots of times with other parents and will understand your concerns and will be truthful about the risks of doing it and not doing it.

I'm very much pro- vaccine but any medication or procedure may result in a side effect. I agree with PP who suggest that you discuss your concerns with your GP and then weigh up the potential risks and benefits

We had concerns over it too and our pead told us to wait. Which we did. There are other members of our family who had the same concerns. I discussed it with them too. They didn't delay and they had no problems.

I was undecided about it and I know its an old article but I read something that Roald Dahl wrote about the death of his daughter and it kind of convinced me.

Also, I'm not in the UK and had to provide my childten's vaccination certificates to claim child benefit.

No vaccines are without individual risk, unfortunately. The herd is served by everyone being vaccinated , but there will always be a few cases where there are side effects.

I either know who you are or you aren't the only person who has suffered similar hearing loss connected to mmr. Only you can decide, what would worry you more, the thought of hearing loss or the thought of the diseases.

Ofcourse your hearing loss has never been confirmed linked to the MMR could you imagine the compensation the pharmaceutical companies would have to pay if it was a confirmed side effect? & as it isn't a confirmed side effect a doctor is not going to validate your claims. Ear infections are a symptom of measles op so I believe you. I would never ever advise someone to vaccinate or not vaccinate their child as to me there are risks with both decisions & it's a lose-lose situation.

Compensation has been awarded for hearing loss from MMR, but as with the diseases it was caused by encephalytis caused by the vaccine
