non-hormonal medication for acne?

Just wondering if anyone here has ever been on any medication for acne. After many years on various contraceptive pills - some which made it better, some worse I am finally pill free. This is because I got sick of all the rotten side effects - I am NOT TTC. But now my acne is just like it was when I was a teenager again and I'm getting fed up. I'm going to discuss it with my GP but just wondering if anyone here has any experience?

There are alternatives to hormonal treatmetns for acne, definately go and check them with your GP. You may well be offered topical treatments - there are several different ones including topical antibiotics. If the acne is more widespreead or more severe then you may be offered oral antibiotics these take a few weeks to work and you would need to take them for several months. HTH
