Flap of skin hanging from the top of throat known as the Uvula. It seems to be stuck to one side of ds throat. Is this usual?

Has anyone come across this before. I have only noticed it since he has had this bug thing with a sore throat and hacking cough.

He is very swollen and red in the throat and this uvula seems to be stuck to the side of his throat,(cant be comfortable).

I am assuming that it is some viral infection but a little worried that the Uvula has morphed itself to the side of his throat.

Have you seen this before or have any ideas?

In case you have similar. I have been to doctor today and it appears that it is quite normal for the uvula to attach itself to the glands at the side of the throat.

Antibiotics will take the swelling down and the Uvula should detach itself.
