Hi just wondering how long for your period to come back after stopping cerelle the mini pill. I also have a dermoid cyst 4cm but didnt think this would stop my period. I am not pregnant done a test last week. Thanks

I stopped 12 weeks ago and still haven't had a period or any type of mini bleed

I went to my GP at 6 months. He said come back at 9 months. My period started the day before I was due to go back. It was still intermittent. So intermittent in fact that I was 17 weeks pregnant before it became obvious!

That is so annoying! I just want to get back to a normal period. Wow you must have had no symptoms moose

I had no periods for 5 months. Had a blood test done and I had raised prolactin levels - the pill sometimes causes this- and had to take medication to bring the levels back to normal so my periods returned.

Hi, Did you have normal/regular periods before you started on the pill? I had a similar situation a few years back, came off the pill after several years (I was in my late twenties) and nothing after the withdrawal bleed. Saw the GP and a Gynae... they did a blood test and found slightly raised testosterone and a high LH/FSH raio. Did an ultrasound and found signs of PCOS and these symptoms combined with the bloods they diagnosed PCOS. They also gave me a drug that induces a period to check there was no blockage or premature menopause. However I had none of the other symptoms of PCOS, no excess hair, I wasn't overweight, no acne. So I waited nearly a year with no periods and then was in a relationship again and was advised it is healthier to have regular periods so you can shed the lining that is building up so I started back on the pill. Then recently came off as we started ttc and bingo, my periods are starting to regulate after a few months and have settled on a cycle of 32/33 days. I had fairly regular periods before starting on the pill at age 20, so I really believe I had post-pill amenhorroea/temporary PCOS. No pregnancy yet but I'm only just starting to ovulate regularly. My advice, get checked out in case there is anything else going on, but if you have previously had periods and no other signs of PCOS then the periods will re-start do stay off the pill until they do... two of my other friends recently fell preg after being diagnosed with PCOS and v similar stories to me. IMO its very common for your body to take a while to start working normally after ovaries have been supressed for a while, the GP told me this also and I guess they see women all the time with the same.
