its not just one needle to administer the local anesthetic, its a series of needles approx 1.5cm apart from mid calf to groin.Icounted 15 needle holes on my leg. each needle is excrutiating agony.it feels like someone is slicing your leg open with a knife. once the anesthetic is in, the laser treatment itself is fairly uneventful.then you go back on the ward and can go home shortly.you can barely walk the pain is so bad.you leg looks swollen and is black and blue with bruises, and your skin on your leg burnt. not a pleasant experience for anyone and I would not recommend it.im certainly not going back to have the other leg done.

Bugger. I was hoping to have some broken veins done - do you think it would be as painful as for varicose veins?

Hope you feel better soon.
