Can a hernia be re-repaired after a mesh repair?

DH had two hernias repaired about 15 years ago. First repair failed and they did another, with mesh to hold it in.
Recently he admitted he thinks it's back... and it is . He is the worst for not seeing a doctor, and he has two competitive sports events coming up this month. He's 55 but an extremely fit, slim triathlete...always on the go, always cycling etc.

Can it be re-fixed?

Sure - if it's bothering him. He probably needs to see a surgeon to discuss options but would obviously need to see his GP first.

Hoping you get an answer - I am in same situation! My mesh is with titanium screws surgeon was super proud but I now have another umbilical hernia!

My DH ha had one hernia repaired 3 times. It's quite common to need a redo. The 3rd time the surgeon did find it trickier as apparently the mesh had stuck a bit to neighbouring structures. It's been a while now with no further trouble so fingers crossed etc. He did tend to do too much too soon, and last time l had to remind him to give it a chance to heel.
