I had 4 of my wisdom teeth out yesterday, I am taking ibruprofen and co-codamol but its not really working. I also tried some paracetamol and dihydrocodeine from boots but that is not helping. (i know not to take the co-codamol and the paracetamol/dihyrocodeine together)

What else can I buy from the pharmacy just to cover me for these next few days until it subsides more.

Ta

you can take paracetamol containing medicine and one containing asprin together and they sometimes work better.

Are you up to talking to Pharmacist? They might be able to give you better advice?

I can't really get out the house at the moment so its hard to speak to one, I might ask my df to have a chat tomorrow. Ta

there isn't anything else you can take.
is it still very, very painful despite all the painkillers?
I've had a couple of teeth out and tbh ordinary ibuprofen and paracetamol do tend to do the trick. go back and see your dentist if it hasn't settled soon

Yes but I only had it done yesterday and it was a surgical extraction of wisdom teeth so I should expect pain I guess. I think I am just a wimp!! Only side of my face hurts really so hopefully tomorrow I will feel better, I am just feeling sorry for myself.

try alternating them, every two hours. Each of them are every four hours, but you get a dose every two hours iyswim!

hairymclary · 28/03/2007 22:17

but it's generally ok with ibuprofen and paracetamol alternated.
it shouldn't be horribly painful if you're taking the painkillers

Madoldcatlady · 28/03/2007 22:26

Hot water bottle or a wheat bag on your face? Sounds a bit light weight but it worked for me.

confusedandignorant · 28/03/2007 23:36

can't buy any stronger than co-codamol and ibuprofen and alternate the two
