It started after giving birth to by DD. I had an epidural. I couldn't lift my right leg off the bed. I struggle to get up if I sat on the carpet. Some mornings when I come down the stairs my leg just give in under me. I'm so scared this will happen whilst carrying my dd. I told the doctor at my 6week check up. I've been to see him twice about it but he just gives me Anti inflammatory pills each time. What should I do?

I'd ask for a referral to a specialist - epidurals can be funny things and you don't want to risk it when your spine and nerves aren't right.

hi, I had an epidural and I had numbness in my foot for weeks. I did have a c section and so it could be nerve damage but I blame it more on the epidural damaging my spine - not an expert though. I would ask for a referral and insist because they really don't take new mums seriously enough.

I agree, you need to be referred to a specialist.
I know sometimes it can take a while for the aftereffects from a Epidural to go away ( it took almost a year for me to feel fullness of bladder and get normal bladder control after having a spinal block with ys), but like you say this could possibly endanger your child.
Don't let the doc fob you off!

Thank you. Think I'll call for an appointment tomorrow with the doc and tell him I want to see a specialist. It's been like this now for 10 months.
