Another Mirena problem, pain and a lump, please help.

I've had my Mirena for just just over 18 months now. No real probs apart from occasional backache, period cramp but without the period.

The last few days I have had a lot of low pelvic pain and last night I checked to see if I could feel the thrreads, I could but also, next to them I could feel a hard lump on my cervix, very small, to one side.

My first though was that the Mirena was coming out but I think it is actually my cervix.

I need to go to my GP don't I but I am scared.

Could be unrelated. You could see the practice nurse initially and she take a swab if needs be. When was your last smear ? Do make the appointment , had uncertainty over the threads recently and a week seemed a long time to wait to resolve it, so do sympathise with you.

Had a smear same time I had coil fitted, did wonder if I should ask for another - had a dodgy one years ago with borderline cells but have all been fine since then.
