Well, following the most violent sickness bug that my family has ever known, and the most vomitastic night I'm now wondering whether to feed the family and if so what with? We ( me dh dd(10) ds1(7) ds2 (7months) all look pale and feel dizzy/ shakey I don't know whether it's just lack of food. We are holding down water. Any advice appriciated !

Well, I would start off by sipping some lemonade - slightly flat is better. That should make you feel better relatively quickly provided you can keep it down.

Then I would try something like plain boiled rice or some dry toast or crackers.

Later in the day if you feel up to it,some soup.

Always works for me!

This is what I do, think I got it from Annabel Karmel.

BRAT diet

B - banana which settle an acid tummy and has potassium to regulate fluid balance
R - rice which relieves diarrhoea and provides energy and protein
A - apple which is a traditional cure for gastroenteritis
T - toast which helps to settle stomach and provides carbohydrate for energy

Possibly not all together though!

Thanks guys, gives me something to work from. I think we'll try some lemonade and try the baby with banana. My Mum and Dad have had it too I think everyone will be giving the babalon clan a wide berth for a while

Thanks again
