Has anyone tried a pillow speaker for tinnitus?

Just wondering how loud they are and if they'd wake up Dh...

I've tried a pillow speaker - not for tinnitus but just to listen to podcasts etc. Way too loud, tried it out once and sent it straight back I'm afraid. It'd be great if you sleep alone but hopeless for sharing a bed.
