A right pain in the neck!

I'm studying at the moment - good old-fashioned pen, paper and text books.

Something is wrong with my posture: I have pain right at the base of my skull, coming round into my shoulders and collar bone.

I'm obviously hunching over and have consciously tried to 'unfurl'. All the advice I can find online is about posture / workplace set up with PCs or laptop. I think that's ok (I naturally sit straighter and look ahead when using a screen), but I can't help looking down when reading a book or taking notes!

Has anyone got any advice? I need to knuckle down with my study but the discomfort is putting me off. Thanks!
