I always faff about trying to get a doctors appointment. I finally went three (?) weeks ago after suffering with ear ache to be told I had an ear infection.
I was given some antibiotics, which I always take reluctantly as I end up with a terrible sore throat afterwards, which was a viscious cycle a few years ago as the doctors kept wanting to give me more antibiotics for the throat which then lead to more sort throats etc.
Anyway, now I have a sort throat, and it's agony and I also have ear-ache.
Should I bother with the docs (dont want them to give me antibiotics to be sore again in a week or so) or try to stick it out myself?

TIA!

go back. perhaps this one is resistant to that particular type of antibiotic?
our docs tend not to give antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. why do the antibiotics give you a sore throat??

only amoxacillin - lol forgive the terrible attempt of phonetic spelling!

try another antibiotic, if gp thinks it is bacterial and not viral. have they done a swab?

No, not been yet. They looked at my ear a few weeks ago and said it was an infection, so gave me the anti biotics. I had the sore throat yesterday and it has got worse today. its the same type I get from antibiotics - only on one side of the throat but extremely painful. The ear-ache I don't usually get - but its the same ear.
I'll call the docs tomorrow. Thanks for the advice.
