I've had anitchy bottom for what seems like forever. GP said it could be itchy bottom syndrome and gave me some cream which was worse than useless. She took a vaginal swab while I was there and turns out I have thrush. She said this could be causing the itchy bottom, but cant believe this! never heard of it before, any other poor soul experience this/know anything about it??
Am desperate....!

Yes, it could easily be thrush - you can get it anywhere that gets warm and damp. It also spreads easily so if you have it vaginally, it can spread to your bottom.

Have you got some Canesten to put on it? That will help. Plus I presume the GP has given you a prescription for something like Diflucan as well?

Are there any other symptoms other than itching? I think I might have this.

UCM is that you?

Sorry it had to be done - and I wanted to be first!

Yes could be thrush, Whack some canestan on the whole area, always wipe front to back and keep back area scrupulously clean.
