HELP! banged head

ds1 has just come in from playing out screaming his head off saying he fell off his bike and banged his head really hard on a brick wall. he says it's throbbing. Do i take him to casualty or is that only if he's sick and drowsy?
ds2 also banged his head (they collided) but doesn't seem as bad.
dh is working too, help!

If he is sick / nauseous or drowsy or floppy (in the next 24 hours) or was knocked out even for a second, or says his vision is disturbed take him to A&E. Otherwise ice on the bump, and he's probably fine, I think.

Sickness is common after a bump on the head but only worry if he keeps on vomiting. He'll need to go to A&E if he keeps being sick or if he's drowsy/has vision problems. Also, even if he seems ok, make sure you check on him in the night, keep waking regularly. HHBS
