breastfeeding - found lump

I woke up this morning with lumps in my left breast. My son slept through - he rarely does - so both breasts were engorged.

He's feeding now and I can no longer feel the lumps. Is this something to do with breastfeeding? When I express I can get about 6oz from the right breast but hardly anything from the left - are the ducts blocked or something?

I think that's exactly it - blocked milk ducts but I never suffered from them and someone with much better advice will be along in soon. I don't think it's anything to worry about

Try gently massaging the area when feeding/expressing, should help to clear it. See your GP if not gone in a day or so - you don't want to get an infection.

Hope it clears quickly

I was lumpy all through feeding my 3 - whenever they needed a feed, I had lumps but no mastitis ever. Don't worry but do 'stroke' the lump to try and break is down as you feed - it helps.

thanks all. I've had a good feel post feeding and I can't feel anything lumpy now. Should I massage pre or post feed?
