I am a bit of a worrier with regards to pleurisy as I had it 3 times in one year, then pneumonia twice.
I have had a pain on my left side, around and in my ribs for months.
I cough a little bit of nasty phlegm every day but don't have a persistent cough just a general poorly feeling and an almost constant pain. I also have chronic sinusitis and asthma. I have osteoarthritis in my lower back and my knees and feet. I am always tired. Especially now I have written all that out 😳😳
I have never ever smoked but as I am 60 years old, I was brought up in a miner's cottage with all the smoky atmosphere that involved.
My parents smoked heavily and I lived with them until I was 18.
Then, of course, all pubs and clubs were full of smokers.
So,, wise MNers, should I be pushing for an X-ray or some sort of investigation? I have had a few over the years, sometimes finding an infection, sometimes not. I don't want to waste the doctors' time or the resources of the NHS. On the other hand I don't feel well.
