When I had hyperemesis and couldn't even keep water down I found ice lollies fantastic...and ys coke also did th trick sometimes, but if it wasn't flat enough it came straight back up and vomiting bubbles on an empty stomach is v.v. unpleasant.

Hope you feel better soon.

Can you freeze some ice cubes to suck?

futurity · 23/03/2007 12:42

DS2 just been brought back but now feel bad again since getting up. am trying sports drink..tiny wee sips. Mum says i should go to doctor tomorrow if it carries on...what can they do though?

Have you been drinking oral rehydration drinks? You can buy sachets from the chemist which you just mix with water or can make your own. I've had a few 'exploding bum' incidents here in Nigeria but doubted the worth of ORT. However, desperation drove me to try it and it does work! It help stop that weak and wobbly feeling you get with D&V.

Here's the recipe, it's very simple!

Dissolve one level teaspoon of salt and four heaped teaspons of sugar in 1 litre of water. Drink as desired.

Hope you feel better soon.

am drinking oral hydration drink at the moment. A friend picked up DS1 from school and brought a sachet round so i am sat in bed with laptop drinking it. Feel ok when i dont move around so better stay here all day! DS1 and 2 are downstairs with Daddy watching tv i think...they were going out to get me some more sachets but can't hear anything happening!
