Hi all - my little one has got terrible chickenpox with so many fluid filled spots in his hair, ears, body, back and nappy area. He is inconsolable most of the time, can't sleep & won't eat. He's had a tepid bath this morning with bicarb of soda in (apparently this helps!), have smothered him in eurax (like calamine but better according to pharmacist), and he's wearing a v soft babygro. Any one got any other tips?? Oh have also given him calpol. He's got short nails too. Prob doing everything I can but if anyone can help you guys can!!

Medised has an anti-histamine in as well as paracetamol, so will ease the itching, ease the pain and probably help him sleep.

Here. Most chemists stock it behind the counter. Hope he is feeling better soon.

JolieGirl, sorry to hear your lo is so poorly. DS hat chickenpox when he was 2 and that was bad enough.

I used a combination of calamine lotion, aloe vera gel (nice and cooling), piriton syrup, calpol + neurofen and also put oatmeal into his bath which seemed to help. Must be good as even my dry skin came out nice and soft

Hope he feels better soon
