over the last few days my little one has develpoed tiny little bumps on his cheeks and his cheeks are red and hot most of the time. not temperature and no obntehr symptoms. his teeth have started to come thtough over the last few weeks. could this redness and bumpiness be due to teething or is it the start of ezcema? his skin is fine everywhere else

slapped cheek syndrome/fifths disease

no experience of these but think they are fairly inocuous but you can google to check.

Can be serious for pregnant women though

Is it a rash?

Sounds very likely just to be connected to the teething to me.

If he has a cold/mild fever type symptoms plus more of a rash on his body then it may well be slapped cheek but the symptoms can lie dormant for upto 2wks I think...It's nothing to worry about in any case.

it's sort of a rash - it's lots of very close together tiny bumps on his cheeks - cheekls feel very hot but rest of body is fine and no temperature
