Thighs rubbing together, advice on how to soothe the soreness

KissMyShoe · 19/06/2017 13:23

I'm not overweight but my legs right at the top have always touched and in hot weather they rub together and become sore.

They're really sore right now and it's like friction burn. They sting whenever I walk.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to soothe this and stop it from getting worse, I've tried baby powder and it's ok until the sweat makes the powder come off. I haven't tried anything else and can't think of what to try.

I'm sure I'm not the only one with this problem, can anyone help?

Bodyglide is life changing.

NameChange30 · 19/06/2017 14:06

I was Googling solutions for this yesterday. Found this article which is well written and make me laugh (as well as having useful tips!)

I've ordered some Sloggi long leg briefs which don't exactly look attractive but they will be hidden under a dress or skirt, and they're 95% cotton so I'm hoping they'll be comfy and breathable.

treacle tell me more of these ones from Primark. I never go in but I will for this.

Treesinbloom · 19/06/2017 14:13

I'm currently wearing big bloomers anti chafe knickers. Bought them last summer and they've transformed my wardrobe !

TeaMeBasil · 19/06/2017 14:14

Stick deodorant works for me - I tried body glide after rave reviews on here a few summers ago but it made it worse!

MagentaRocks · 19/06/2017 14:16

I bought some Cotton comfort shorts from amazon. Very lightweight and did the trick.

Could you share the link please by any chance?

I use lush body powder on the tops of my legs, under my C-section overhang and under my boobs.

YoungBritishPissArtist · 19/06/2017 14:36

I rescued some holey leggings headed for the bin and cut them into shorts. Advantage of this is I cut them exactly the length I needed (long enough to cover chub, short enough not to show under dress).

BlondeGinger · 19/06/2017 14:45

I love this thread! I was going to ask the same. I'm wearing those long legged hold in pants under my dress today but it's an extra layer and it's making me so hot. I'll try all of the above on my chub rub tomorrow!

Literally plastered sudocrem on but feels like it keep needing to be topped up. Starting to walk like a penguin 🐧

I have this. Always have done. Rounded thighs. Very sore.

TheEmojiFormerlyKnownAsPrince · 19/06/2017 16:31

I bought something called bandelettes. They are like a sort of garter you wear where your thighs touch. I was very doubtful at first, but they were great. They stay up, never fall down and mean you don't have to wear short type things which would make me even hottr

GeorgiePeachie · 19/06/2017 16:32

Man spread when sitting down as much as possible.

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 19/06/2017 16:38

I was just about to say I've used lanacane but feel like I have to reapply it every 20 mins!
Is Bodyglide better than that?

SloeGinRocks · 19/06/2017 16:39

Why is there a pink body glide for girls? What's the difference?

HolaWeenie · 19/06/2017 16:43

I have the nude sloggi shorts from Amazon, really lightweight and I wear dresses all
Summer long now!

TheHodgeoftheHedge · 19/06/2017 16:48

I love that Udderly Chamois cream, but again, it seems to wear off very quickly.

btw, while we're on the subject, in hot weather like this, does anyone else have trouble keeping their panty liners stuck in place? Or am I the sweatiest person ever?!

HeyBigSpender · 19/06/2017 16:57

Can you buy bodyglide in the shops? Or is deodorant just as good?

SingaporeSlander · 19/06/2017 17:03

On the Bodyglide, does anyone think there is any difference between the pink one and the blue one?

Am wondering if the pink one is any better for, ahem, higher up the inner thighs. My legs touch fairly near the top... Blush

"Why is there a pink body glide for girls? What's the difference?"
Because if it wasn't pink we couldn't possibly buy it Hmm
Apparently the only difference is that the bottle is half the size but not half the price, it's only a quid cheaper! Angry
That's according to the article I linked to above...

SingaporeSlander · 19/06/2017 17:04

I got my Bodyglide from Runners Need. Not sure if that's just a London shop.

picklemepopcorn · 19/06/2017 17:06

The hodge use fabric ones. So much less sweaty.
