Strange smell and itching?

I have changed my name for this as I am very embarrassed

It started on Sunday, Sorry if its too much Info, but thought I had a bit of a strange smell coming from down below! As no one else mentioned it I did wonder if I was over sensitive to my smell! Monday I went to work and again, I noticed this smell again!. In the afternoon I began to have a real urge to scratch in one particular place inside of vagina. It drove me crazy!
today, again, the itching and the smell,(up until now no one mentioned the smell!) I was in the kitchen when DH walked in and said"what on earth is that smell!" I stood next to him and said "its you!" "You need to have a bath!" I was mortified as you can imagine, I do bathe and shower regulary!

I have hust finished having a slight bleed for 2 wks could this have any thing to do with it? (I dont normally bleed for this long)

Do you think I need to see the Dr or will it pass on its own?

see the doc
sounds like an infection ...might need ABs

NotQuiteCockney · 20/03/2007 20:45

Sounds like a yeast infection. There are a bunch of natural fixes, but there are also ointments etc that fix it.

Lost tampon? Have a root around, see if one's got lost. (it ain't pretty, but it happens!)

Don't worry and get yourself to the GP.

see the doc

if dishcharge is white and creamy it's probably thrush and she'll give you Canesten, if green/yellow and snotty looking prob infection and you'll get antibs.

Do you smell fishy? If so you could have bacterial vaginosis. Just a build up of 'bad' bacteria as opposed to good. Makes the PH of your vagina alkaline instead of acidic. You'll need antibiotics to get rid, be warned though they can really upset your tum - stay near a loo! Sometimes it comes back so I would recommend taking a probitoic supplement too - acidophillus or the like. Try holland and barratt or do a google. You can get acidophillus pessaries too. I had it after having my DD - it's gone now though.
Good luck!

have been to see Dr this afternoon, luckily for me he could see the problem straight away and so he didnt have to dig and delve too deeply!!!! I have a cyst, he thinks its probably a hormonal one and has given me some cream! phew glad thats over!

Hmm a Barsomebody cyst. Quite common, lots of women get them. Hope your smelling fresher soon
