What's this rash (picture included)?

I woke up with this today. It doesn't blanch when I press a glass against it. Not hot or sore or itchy. I feel well in myself. Its just one patch on my leg.Anyone any ideas?

I know mumsnet cannot diagnose things etc etc but I am useless at knowing when to go to the doctor (and so usually don't bother) and could do with some idea whether it's anything to worry about. I haven't ever seen a rash like this before.

It looks a bit like shingles - but that is usually pretty painful and makes you feel unwell. If it were me, I would get that checked out by a doctor.

Fettuccinecarbonara · 16/06/2017 21:20

Hsp? Can be linked to kidney function.

I'd get checked out

picklemepopcorn · 16/06/2017 21:28

Doesn't look like HSP when my DS had it.

It looks like something I would take to the GP if it is still there on Monday. Unless it got worse, in which case out of hours.

Cellulitis? Get it seen by a pharmacist first thing tomorrow. You may need ABs and if so better soon than later.

I had cellulitis and it was a big area the same red colour. I felt dreadful. In growing hair? Although that's usually painful. There are lots of viral skin rashes.

Have you been sat on a plastic sun bed and peeled yourself off? That can smart...

Tanfastic · 17/06/2017 00:19

Looks like sweat rash to me. I had something similar between my boobs a few weeks back. Went after a few days,

claraelsa · 17/06/2017 00:27

I'd say sweat rash as well but I'm not a medical expert.

wonderwoo · 17/06/2017 12:33

Thanks all. Still there but a bit paler than it was. Have had sweat and heat rash before but this seems different. It's very under the skin, if that makes sense.

Will get it looked at on Monday if it's not showing signs of going. Thank you.

How are you today, op?

80sMum · 19/06/2017 07:27

Could it be something to do with your circulation? Venous eczema, possibly?

wonderwoo · 19/06/2017 08:54

Rash has nearly gone thanks pickle. So I will leave the doctor in peace. Was a bit strange but seemingly nothing to worry about.

Very good. I have random rashes and weird skin stuff go on all the time. I've learnt to treat OTC anything that gets worse and ignore anything that goes away!
