Woke up just this morning with it and that lumpy area is sore. Any ideas?

Looks like an ulcer. I think the lumpy area is just from biting the tongue over the years, mine's the same.

I ignored mine and ended up having most of my tounge off, just saying. Rich.

More than likely from your teeth in your sleep, if it persists for two weeks or more then see your GP. Dont be scared by 'rich' s post, abit blunt!!

It was a tumour which started as a small white spot, and ended in a 10 hour operation and two months in hospital. But that's probably almost worst case scenario.

Looks harmless. Check with gp. U could be dehydrated.

It can be a virus like a cold - it ought to go away soon.
