Vaginal Sebaceous Cysts

I have had a cyst on my vagina now for quite some years. It gradually got bigger but doesn't seem to have changed much more for a while. I did go and see my doctor when it first started up and it didn't seem to be of too much concern at that time. He told me that it could burst on it's own and that would be it. It never did go away and I have become more sensitive about it over the past months and I really must make another appointment to go back and see the doctor again to put my mind at rest. My DP told me he had noticed it but it doesn't bother him.
Has anyone else suffered with this and did you go on to have any surgery or treatment for it?

I'm starting to drive myself mad as well as I keep googling and reading up on all the worst case scenarios.

They are harmless but can be bothersome and can be removed if they are.
