Sore area on back of head

I've had a sore patch on the back of my head for a while now. It's an area rather than a spot, similar feeling to when you take out a ponytail that's been tied tightly all day.

DH has had a look at my scalp and can't see anything, no raised bump or flaky skin or anything.

Any ideas? I'm 34 weeks pregnant if that makes any difference.

Thanks in advance!

Use niseral shampoo.

No idea but will await someone who does as DD2 complains of the same thing.
She has mentioned it on and off for the last 2 years or so. Tender area, nothing at all to see.

So maybe a dandruff/fungal type this even though nothing visible. Will give that a go.

Isn't the ponytail hair hurting related to the nerves in your scalp. I'd see your gp, I can't imagine any OTC creams helping.

Google seems to suggest nerve endings, oil glands and blood vessels cause the ponytail pain, and it does feel like more of a soreness than and irritation (no itching, flaking skin etc).

I've got super thick hair as well which probably doesn't help.

Scalp massage will increase blood circulation and alleviate damage caused to the scalp sensory nerves.
Certain other alternative therapies such as acupressure and acupuncture are also beneficial to alleviate scalp tenderness.

Found that on a website, if it's not too sore could you try a gentle massage?
