Was doing a headlice check and came across this on my dd head.

Does anyone recognise what it is?

DD mentioned going to the doctor but I don't want to waste there time if it's something insignificant.

Is it a tic?

Haggisfish · 28/05/2017 11:17

Probably just a sebaceouscyst.

Squishedstrawberry4 · 28/05/2017 11:19

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tick

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 28/05/2017 11:32

I don't think it's a tick because it appears to have a hair growing out of it.

Off to Google the sebaceous cyst

Watching with interest. My DD has one of these too.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 28/05/2017 11:37

haggis I think this is a possibility actually, the images don't look very like it but that might just be because most look skin tone colour and dd rd is much paler but then it on her scalp a paler area.

Really stripey, how long has she had it?

I don't really know. But I do know that she inadvertently picked it off and I don't know if it has come back or not.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 28/05/2017 11:39

Meant to say the description on the site I looked it up on sounds accurate

Right just checked it. It used to be that size and as pronounced from the head as the one in your pic, but as I said, she managed to pick it off when brushing it. It is still there a bit but is looks and feels more like a tiny raised scar now.

MinniesAndMickeysNeedCounting · 28/05/2017 16:01

Thanks stripey

Huzzah!! I've had two or three, with one removed as it was right on parting.
