Sore Throat Help!

My brother is over and has a V V sore throat. He's tried gargling with salt as we have no TCP, but its steadily getting worse. What else can we try?

very strong painkillers with codeine in. Could be tonisiltis if he cant swallow

try gargling soluble paracetamol or aspirin. if using salt water I think it should be as salty and as hot as is bearable
