Viral rash?

Hi,

I thought that my LO was getting chicken pox this week - she started to get a rash 3 days ago. However, they didn't blister over so I guessed that it wasn't pox and got her to my gp's today.
Anyway, I've been told its viral but I forgot to ask - does this mean I should keep her away from other children - ie its contagious?

my ds has a viral skin thing and has had for months....doctor says it goes away on its own (eventually) but is not contagious. No point putting anything on it but DSs patches has gone a bit dry so i put Oilatum on his skin to ease the flakiness

thanks smirkingathome. she seems a bt better today, not just as rashy, so hopefully will clear up quickly.
