Full health check - Opening giant can of worms?

I'm thinking of going private for a full health check. ie bloods, cholesterol, mole mapping etc.
Basically due to mental health reasons I have totally neglected myself, but I have to face facts that I now have responsibilities so need to look after myself.
Has anyone had a full health check? The full works? (Is there such a thing)
How much did it cost and how did you feel about it?
I'm so worried about opening a massive can of worms and finding out I'm already dropping to bits.

I had a private health check wnen I turned 30 and all was well, plus I got to discuss the m/c I'd just had. Felt it was useful. can't remember how much it was though, but nuffield so fairly standard.

When you get to 40, you get a free nhs health check.

Will the GP not do full bloods for you?!

I didn't think you could just ask for it on the nhs? If theres nothing obviously wrong with me apart from the fact Ive abused my body for years . I don't have symptoms as such. I've got suspicions about my left kidney, I feel like crap all the time but that's probably my lifestyle. Think the thing I'm worried bout the most right now is the moles.

There are places that do mole checks but if you are worried you should see your GP first.

It sounds as if you have a health anxiety. have you?

The free NHS check is bollocks- they will weigh you, do BMI , BP, ask about smoking etc and send you away. Waste of time.

No Ive probs got the opposite of health anxiety. I've had an 'oh well , you've gotta die of something' attitude for far too long, I only go to the doctors when I absolutely have to.

I agree with starting off at the GP, explain you feel under the weather, and they would probably run the blood tests anyway. Otherwise Lloyds pharmacies do a £15 health check www.lloydspharmacy.com/en/info/cholesterol-and-heart-check.

I have one booked (privately through work) - can't recall how much it costs but remember thinking 'fuck me, I'm not sure whether I'd actually rather they find something wrong with me for that price!'

I'm a bit nervous about what they will find, although I guess it's better to catch these things early - I have a few friends who've been caught out (and have since sadly passed away) because they've refused to go to the doctors about symptoms for ages and ages. Both were told they probs would have had a much better prognosis had they sought help at the first onset of symptoms (helpful at that point..).
