Can I have some advice on pelvic pain/periods/baldder issues?

Any advice much appriciated.
43 years old. 6 weeks ago I starting having a dull aching pain in my lower pelvis as well has a need to empty my bladder more frequently. As my bladder became more full it began to feel painful. 2 weeks later had period. At correct time in cycle but very slightly clotted and lighter than usual. Lasted 2 days.
For the next 3-4 weeks the pelvic pain has continued and progressed to mid back and a very deep internal scraping kind of sensation. Some days worse than others and sometimes bloating and burning sensation in tummy.
5 days ago (on time) another period arrived. This time very very painful and a little heavier than usual with some old brownish blood to start. The pain started about 24 hours before the bleeding. I was having problems walking and driving and my tummy felt hot. This period then stopped after about 24 hours. The pain has continued although not as bad as when I was bleeding. Bladder issues have continued but not any worse.
Have just been given Mefenamic which feels a little burny in side me but seems to take the edge off the pain.
Any suggestions??? Doc has refered me to urology as periods were all fine when I first went. Having an ultrasound scan next week. I think it might be fibroids??

It would be worth being checked for endometriosis, as your pain sounds similar and you've said it's throughout your cycle.

That's exactly what mine was like, yes, though it can take different forms. It can affect bladder and/or bowel if you have adhesions, so it could also account for your bladder issues. I'm sure there could be lots of other explanations, but its worth mentioning endo if only to rule it out, as it's a condition that's often overlooked or misdiagnosed.
